Can someone Reverse Engineer Sony's FX3 Camera Firmware?
#3027
i am new to Reverse Engineering and i maybe you can help me with a specific problem and Free my FX3 🫶🏻
So here is the issue starting with firmware version 4.00 and later updates, Sony altered how non-OEM and third-party batteries (or certain dummy batteries/V-mount setups) communicate with the ILME-FX3 camera. Using unverified or third-party batteries disable battery percentage readouts, triggers a warning pop-up and prevents proper power recognition. All of my third party batteries display the same message. The camera stops recording. The message comes up 100% of the time after about 15 seconds and keeps coming up even after clicking “OK”. This was never an issue on the Firmware Version 3.00.
Sony only did this to sell more of their own OEM Batteries for 70$ but I think maybe it's still possible to REA on the old Firmware Version 4 or the latest Firmware Version 7.02 and delete this battery checkup or in best case JB the latest firmware for Homebrew Options like the old OpenMemories: Tweak Project for Sony's A6300 and A6500 Series
