A cosy pixel-art desk at night, in front of a big window with curtains and string lights. An ultrawide monitor shows code in a tab named afrokk.studio beside a live preview of the studio's site, and a video edit on the other half. Through the window, Montréal: the downtown skyline and Mount Royal, the Grande Roue and La Ronde's roller coaster far off by the river, and the Jacques Cartier Bridge lit up in colour. Up on the grass by the river at sunset, with the Ambassador Bridge to Detroit in the distance.

I take something complicated and make it feel simple. At McGill, that's petabytes of radio telescope data and astrophysical research. At my software studio, it's a founder's rough idea. And on YouTube, it's the latest in tech, for an audience of over a million.

Currently building

  • Software for a radio telescope. CHIME/FRB catches fast radio bursts from other galaxies. I build the systems that get them to astronomers, and the applications where anyone can browse them.
  • afrokk.studio, where we build products end to end with a few founders at a time. Say hello: hi@afrokk.dev.
  • Echo Thérapie, with the studio: AI session management for therapists in Québec.
  • Seed Jamaica, with the studio: people-first microloans for everyday Jamaicans.
