The effort to record WCSC history began in 2019 by Kevin Orr, inspired by the passing of Joe Rogers.
Due to the late start, there are many gaps in our knowledge. Significant effort was put into verifying the accuracy of the following, but it cannot be guranteed. If you have information on WCSC's past, please submit a pull request or message one of the current EBoard members.
For any historic photos we've collected, see the photos directory.
The 20th anniversary reunion was hosted on September 19th, 2025 at the MSC at USF.

Continuing the competition focus of the previous year, Whitehatters formally organized a competitive team with a stricter training regimen. The team quickly rose, placing high in several smaller CTFs before the interruption caused by the pandemic. Competition continued for a few months, but eventually fell apart due to lack of interest and the cancellation of many events (playing CTFs in a Teams call was depressing). The focus shifted to heavy infrastructure, rebuilding all of the club's documentation (both administrative and technical) and servers from the ground up to set future Whitehatters up for success. Normal meetings and trainings continued to be well attended despite the setback, and we assisted with remote versions of the summer camps Whitehatters had previously helped support (including a separate new CTF board and challenges).
The positions of Public Relations and Blue Team Captain/Systems Admin were also formally amended into the Whitehatters constitution, making these positions permanent.
